Events
Vigilant Books aims to be an intellectual center for Wheeling. We plan to host numerous events that include a variety of topics and audiences, all centered on discussions to increase understanding.
Events will include author talks and book signings, poetry and tall tales slams, music, arts shows, readings for kids, and perhaps occasional classes about writing, painting, telescopes, and any other quirky thing.
We invite book clubs, Scouts, writing groups, political clubs, history groups and other interesting organizations to buy a tea, coffee or pastry and meet in our Thoughtful Space conference room. For now, as we inhabit the temporary site at 1900 Market, only small groups up to about 10-12 people can be accommodated. But once we are in the Vigilant Firehouse, everything is possible!
You can even rent our entire shop for a birthday party, wedding reception (if you don’t have too many friends) or other private event.
